Organ donation is a most noble contribution a person can ever do. Organ may be donated legally when a person allows either by consent when s/he is alive or after death with the assent of the next of kin. The donations may be for several purposes such as research and transplantation into another person’s body. The purpose may save life of many who require some of the body organs. Daan Utsav, the organ donation camp is organized to build awareness and createan environment among conscious citizens for organ donation. There are several misconceptions prevailing regarding organ donation. Most of the organs are donated after death of somebody, either natural or accidental. The useful organs may be helpful for somebody who is in utter need. In the other hand, a body after death may be used for medical research purpose to save several lives. A person can donate organs by signing a legal consent paper. But many of us are unaware of the issues, its importance and procedure. KAPOCH has taken initiative to create awareness among the general public to come forward for a greater cause. An organ donation and awareness camp called as Daan Utsav has been organized on 3rd October, 2016 at Bhubaneswar where ………….public participated and signed the legal consent paper to donate their body parts.
